Personal training at Elitas is unlike anything you may have experienced in a commercial gym. You will never have to wait for a piece of equipment or have to deviate from your session. You will never have to put up with poor gym etiquette or worry about people watching you. In our state-of-the-art semi-private training facility you will be working on a one-to-one basis with a highly qualified professional. Assessments will take place in a private consultation room.

Packages are very flexible. For the best results you should train with us three days per week. We understand this may not be feasible for some, so we can design effective sessions for you to carry out in your own time as a member in one of our gyms, or other settings such a regular gym or your own home.     Here at Elitas we have identified the most efficient and effective training protocols for fat loss. The training programmes you will undertake are the end result of a vast quantity of research and experimentation. The most powerful fat burning activities include variations of resistance training and interval training. Our facility is exceptionally well equipped for this. In fact, we believe it is the best-equipped facility in the area.

    Our approach to fat loss is multi-dimensional. We do not stop at training. We will thoroughly analyse your dietary habits and lifestyle in order to identify areas which need to be modified. Important things to discuss vary from sleep and stress levels to what you eat for breakfast in the morning. Once we have built up a picture of your lifestyle we can work with it and utilise the information we have to tailor our fat loss scheme to you.  Our aim is to develop sustainable healthy eating habits, not to provide you with a crash diet from which you will rebound to the same position you were in before.

    One of the most important things in the process is monitoring. This is an area which is grossly neglected in the vast majority of gyms. We will keep a close track of how your body is changing throughout your time with us to identify what is working for you and what is not. We will carry out comprehensive body composition analyses at regular intervals as well as continual monitoring of your mood, energy levels and general well-being. It is not an easy process but it should be an enjoyable one which makes you feel better not worse!

      Nicky works with an extremely diverse range of individuals ranging from those in their teens to those in their seventies and she is highly skilled in adapting her classes to suit different clients’ needs. She delivers a diverse range of classes including full body weights, HIIT, circuits and core strength. She also offers semi-private small group training and personal training.

Improving markers of health and reducing the risk of disease later in life, improving body composition for a more attractive physique, improving sporting performance, and rehabilitating and recovering from illness and injuries are all examples of this.

      Ben has experienced the health and fitness industry from many angles. He spent a year working within the strength and conditioning department at Gloucester Rugby Club, coaching the senior squad day-to-day and spending his evenings working with academy players.     Gaining lean muscle mass can prove to be a difficult thing to do. When a person undergoes a resistance training protocol for the first time, they will generally experience some initial gains over the first 12 weeks or so. However 95% of trainers will never progress from here.

    The human body has evolved to be resistant to dramatic changes in muscle mass. Muscle is a metabolically active tissue. This means if you possess more skeletal muscle, you will burn more energy both at rest and during exercise. Therefore back in our hunter-gatherer days, when food was in short supply, those carrying more muscle mass were less likely to survive and pass on this genetic trait. This explains why so many gym users spend year after year lifting weights and eating high protein diets with no results to show for it.

    At Elitas we have developed systems to overcome the dreaded “plateau”. Your training will be preceded by an extensive set of initial assessments. This will include a comprehensive body composition analysis, a movement screening, a structural balance assessment, and muscle fibre testing. Nothing is left to chance. We will identify your strengths and weaknesses and use the information to develop the optimal training programme for you.

    Your training programme will be designed to improve your posture and movement patterns and provide you with continuous gains in lean muscle tissue. During the programme you will undergo phases of accumulation, intensification and supercompensation. Before progress stalls, we will introduce new and advanced training techniques. At Elitas we have the facilities in place to continually provide your body with new stimuli, which will in turn provide you with more gains and more satisfaction and enjoyment.

    As with any personal training package at Elitas, the training is only one aspect of it. You will be given expert advice on nutrition and supplementation to support what you are doing in the gym. You will receive recommendations that are practical for you and your life, not just what you would be doing in an ideal world.

    Our class instructor Nicky Worton runs a varied timetable of 45 minute exercise classes in our state-of-the-art flagship gym on Terminus Road, Chichester.

    These are not your standard exercise classes!  Nicky has 26 years of coaching experience and has become the most popular class instructor in the area.  She manages to maintain the fun and social side of things while still giving everybody a bit of a beasting!

    Classes are limited to 12 people which enables Nicky to keep an eye on everybody and even tailor the workout to each individual to a certain extent.  This enables her to cater for a very wide range of individuals.  Class attendees vary in age from teens to seventies, in ability from novice to advanced and there is a good mix of both men and women.  Classes can be booked via our website or the MINDBODY app.

    There are some profound differences in the fat loss process for men and women. At Elitas, we understand the impact of the physiological and biomechanical differences between men and women, such as hormone levels, muscle mass and premenstrual syndrome. The implications of these differences to women include greater fat storage in the lower body and a predisposition to cellulite. These are issues we have the knowledge to tackle specifically, and with great success.

    We use advanced concepts such as assessing your current body fat levels, food intake and environmental exposure to a multitude of factors, allowing us to determine various hormonal characteristics which could impede or impact upon your fat loss progress to levels you never thought possible. This allows us to devise tailored and personalised plans which are entirely unique to you. At no point will you be given generic, impractical or “cookie cutter” advice.     Sports science and strength and conditioning are key aspects of sporting performance at the top level. This is extremely well-documented in sports such as rugby and football. It is also the case in sports which receive less media attention. The quality of strength and conditioning has been greatly influenced by a number of pioneering coaches, such as Vladimir Zatsiorsky, Yuri Verkhoshansky and Charles Poliquin (to name but a few). Consequently we are now able to consistently bring about great improvements in characteristics such as speed, strength and resistance to injury, which almost directly translate to enhanced sporting performance.

    Here at Elitas, we have experience coaching international athletes and working with professional sports teams. Our facility is extremely well-equipped for strength and conditioning purposes (equipment includes power racks, a lifting platform and a track) and our trainers are extremely knowledgeable. We can cater for anyone from novice to elite athlete. We pride ourselves on making an elite service such as this available to anybody. Whether you want to improve your golf swing or your speed on the football pitch, we can help you.

    Our one-to-one sports performance packages are priced in the same way as our personal training packages. You will receive extensive initial assessments and continual monitoring throughout the process. Your training programme will be designed to address any muscular imbalances we identify and will be carefully constructed to ensure you reach your goals in as little time as possible. You will also receive nutritional and lifestyle advice specifically tailored to you and your needs based on what we uncover during your initial assessments.

    We also run group strength and conditioning sessions. This consists of small groups (no more than four per trainer) of individuals with similar goals. The group environment works well and you will still receive a lot of individual feedback and recommendations. It also enables you to split the cost of the session.     The best way to speed up recovery and alleviate aches and pains is soft tissue therapy. In today’s world of extended periods of sitting and computer work, soft tissue therapy is invaluable. In many cases it can provide instant relief of back or neck pain. It is also an effective method for improving posture and movement patterns to reduce the likelihood of injury. We strongly recommend regular soft tissue therapy as part of a healthy lifestyle.

    Massage strokes enhance blood and lymphatic circulation to speed up recovery and decrease swelling due to inflammation. Other techniques help with more specific problems in the soft tissue, such as trigger points and adhesions. A lot of attention is also given to the myofascia. Myofascia is the network of connective tissue that surrounds your muscles and runs continuously throughout your body. Poor posture, physical trauma and inflammatory responses create restrictions in the myofascia. This can pull it out of alignment, crushing nerves and blood and lymphatic vessels, and create further tension in pain-sensitive structures.

    At Elitas we offer a variety of soft tissue therapy techniques, including sports massage, myofascial release, active release and muscle energy techniques. Your treatment will be tailored to your exact needs following an assessment.     We have trainers specifically qualified in pre and post-natal exercise.  We are aware of the benefits of regular physical activity and exercise during pregnancy and we also know what special considerations to make and what contraindications to watch out for.

    Returning to exercise and physical activity after pregnancy is equally important to health and well-being, particularly because of its association with a decreased risk of postpartum depression.

    Maintaining a physically active lifestyle and regular exercise is an excellent way to support a healthy pregnancy and makes returning to a healthy and happy body shape and lifestyle after delivery an awful lot easier.

      Nicky works with an extremely diverse range of individuals ranging from those in their teens to those in their seventies and she is highly skilled in adapting her classes to suit different clients’ needs. She delivers a diverse range of classes including full body weights, HIIT, circuits and core strength. She also offers semi-private small group training and personal training.

    We provide musculoskeletal rehabilitation. If you have suffered a serious injury or just have a niggling problem, such as a bad back or a sore shoulder, then this is for you. Following an initial consultation, we will provide you with an individualised plan for recovery. We have strong links with a number of health professionals in the area, including doctors, physiotherapists and chiropractors, and often work in conjunction with them.

    Your treatment at Elitas can involve corrective strengthening exercises, muscle energy techniques and soft tissue therapy. We will build mobility and stability in problem areas and enhance your posture and movement patterns. We also use specific nutritional strategies to reduce inflammation and speed up recovery.  Our facility is well-equipped with full-length mirrors, extensive strength training equipment and a treatment room. Due to NHS cutbacks, access to physiotherapy has become more restricted. Waiting lists have grown longer and treatment and support is limited. We aim to provide an affordable service to those in need.
